Version 1.9 LATEST
9 August 2026
🧙 FEATURE Every player gets their own character
Heroes used to belong to whoever made them, which works fine for a quick fight but not for a campaign. Campaigns now have a Party tab where each player keeps one character of their own.
  • Players create and maintain their own level, HP and armour class
  • The DM can create characters too, and hand them to a player
  • Player characters are visible to the whole party by default
  • Because they are ordinary characters, they also get a portrait and appear on the relations map
Standalone heroes are untouched. If you are not running a campaign, nothing changes for you.
💰 NEW Your purse and your loot, in one place
The Party tab shows each player their own gold, silver and copper alongside the items the DM has assigned to them, without having to open the Loot manager.
⚖️ FEATURE Is this fight fair?
Pick a campaign in the Encounter Manager and the monsters you select are measured against that party's actual levels.
  • A verdict from trivial through to beyond deadly, with the reasoning behind it
  • A bar showing where your encounter falls between the four thresholds
  • Monster count is taken into account, so six weak creatures correctly read as harder than their raw XP suggests
  • Party size adjusts the maths: three or fewer feel it more, six or more feel it less
  • Homebrew monsters without an XP value are flagged rather than silently ignored
✨ IMPROVED No more typing the party in every time
With a campaign selected, its characters fill the hero list automatically with their names, HP and armour class. Anyone who is not at the table tonight can be removed, and they stay removed for the rest of that encounter.
🐛 FIX Player character sheet
  • Saving your own character failed with a permissions error. The character was written before it recorded who owned it, so the server refused it. It is now stamped with the owner on the first write
  • The form was showing the DM's tools — DM notes, consequences, faction and place, entity type. A player now gets a plain character sheet: portrait, name, class, level, HP, armour class and a description
  • Labels were rewritten to match. It asks for your class rather than your title, and about your character rather than a public description
Version 1.8
9 August 2026
🛡️ FEATURE Factions are real things now
The old faction dropdown with its fixed list of nobility, guild and church is gone. You create your own groups instead — The Silver Hand, the dockworkers' union, whatever your world needs — each with a description, an emblem, its own colour and its own publish switch.
  • Put people in a group and they take on its colour across the map
  • Open a group to see everyone in it
  • Old faction values are converted with one click, and nothing is thrown away
🗺️ FEATURE Places that hold each other
A place can sit inside another place. Nordheim is in the North, the North is in the kingdom. On the map a place is drawn as a frame that wraps its residents and grows on its own as you add people. Drag the frame's name plate and everyone inside moves with it.
🎯 IMPROVED Place and group each do one job
The two used to be tangled together. Now the place decides where a node sits and the group decides what colour it is. Someone can live in Nordheim and belong to an order headquartered somewhere else entirely, and the map shows both at once without confusion.
👁️ NEW No more spoiling cities the party has not found
Belonging is now a connection with its own reveal switch, just like a relationship.
  • An unpublished city does not exist for players, and neither do links pointing at it
  • The party can know an NPC without knowing where he is from
  • An unrevealed membership shows the person in neutral grey — otherwise the colour itself would give it away
  • Turn on See the map as a player to check exactly what your table can see
✨ IMPROVED Creating things makes sense again
One dropdown used to mix people, organisations and geography together. Now you pick what you are making first — person, group or place — and the form adapts. A city is no longer asked whether it is dead, and a guild no longer has consequences for being opposed. Shortcuts: N person, G group, S place.
🐛 FIX English throughout, and two things you asked for
  • The relationship map had Danish text scattered through it. Every label, button, tooltip and message is now in English
  • The invite code is now shown on the Members tab as well, where you would look for it, instead of only under Settings
  • Session notes can be deleted. If a note fed clues into a mystery, those clues are removed from the mystery too, so the counter stays honest
Note authors can delete their own notes, and the DM can delete any of them.
Version 1.7

🕸️ FEATURE DM Node now lives inside your campaigns
The relationship map used to be a standalone page with a single map shared across everything, stored only in your own browser. It is now part of each campaign.
  • Open it from the Relations Map button in the Characters tab
  • Every campaign has its own map, saved in the cloud
  • Your map follows you between computer, tablet and phone
  • Clearing your browser no longer wipes your work
  • Players can open the map too, and see what you have revealed to them
🖼️ NEW NPC portraits
Characters and NPCs can now have a picture.
  • Upload from the character form or straight from the map
  • Images are resized automatically before upload, so they stay fast to load
  • Portraits appear inside the map nodes, on character cards and on the detail page
  • Without a picture, a node falls back to the character's initials in the faction colour
🔗 IMPROVED Map nodes and characters are the same thing
No more keeping two lists in sync. Create an NPC on the map and it appears under Characters. Edit a character and the node updates.
  • New fields: title/role, faction, and consequences if supported or opposed
  • Faction sets the node colour, so alliances read at a glance
  • Node positions save themselves as you drag
  • Existing characters keep working; the new fields are simply empty until you use them
👁️ NEW Reveal relations when the party earns it
An NPC can be known to the party long before their connections are. Each relation now has its own reveal switch, separate from whether the NPC is published.
  • Hidden relations are drawn as a dashed line with a padlock, so you can see what the party has not worked out yet
  • Flip the eye icon in the side panel to reveal one the moment it lands at the table
  • Turn on both visibility filters to see the map exactly as your players see it
🗺️ IMPROVED A map you can actually use at the table
The map itself has been rebuilt.
  • Zoom and pan, with two-finger pinch on tablets
  • Proper touch support — dragging nodes now works on iPad
  • Sharp rendering on high-resolution screens instead of a blurry canvas
  • Filter by character type, faction or relation type
  • Auto-arrange scatters a tangled map into something readable
  • Keyboard shortcuts: N new NPC, R new relation, F fit to screen
  • Export your map as a JSON backup
✨ NEW Relations on the character page
Open any NPC and you now see every connection they have, colour-coded by type, without going to the map. As DM you also see which of them are still hidden from the party.
🐛 FIX Navigation no longer loses your place
  • Leaving the Loot manager dropped you back on the campaign list instead of the campaign you came from. Fixed, and the same applies to the relations map
  • The DM Node menu bar had light grey links on a white background, which made them nearly invisible
  • Deleting a character now cleans up its relations and portrait files instead of leaving them behind
🔔 NEW You will be told when there is an update
A small bar now appears when a new version has been released, with a link straight to this page. Behind the scenes the server has also been told to stop serving stale pages, so you should no longer need to hard refresh to see new features.
  • Leave a tab open while an update ships and you will be offered a reload
  • Dismiss the bar and it stays gone until the next release
  • New visitors are not shown a changelog notice for things they never missed

  • Stores name, HP, and AC locally so you can reuse your party fast.
🐛 FIX "Ghost heroes" no longer appear added by mistake
Previously, heroes from a prior encounter could look "pre-added" when creating a new one, but weren't actually in the list. We've cleaned up the UI so the hero list is accurate, and the new Previous Heroes panel is the single source to re-add them.
⚡ IMPROVED Session flow & cleanup
Returning to the main menu now resets stale hero UI. Loading a saved session jumps straight to hero setup with clear, consistent lists.
